What are stem cells?

Stem cells are multi potent cells and due to their multi-differentiation capability are widely considered to be the future of medical applications demanding various cell for a number of diseases and conditions, including in the field of sexual medicine and urology. There are various types of stem cells: embryonic stem cells, umbilical stem cells, and adult stem cells

Stromal Vascular Fraction

SVF is a state of the art technology where a patient’s own fat or adipose derived stem cells are used to heal his or her own body. Adipose tissue contains a large number of multi-potent cells, which is stem-cell-based therapies. Fat is processed to yield high number of mesenchymal stem cells.

The procedure entails performing a mini- liposuction from the abdomen or flank. Stems cells are extracted from the tissue, which are first processed. These stem cells are activated and administered back into the patient where they secrete signaling signals called growth factors, thus leading to their regenerative potential.

Potential for SVF*

  • Men’s Sexual Health
  • Women Sexual and Vaginal Health
  • Erectile Dysfunction
  • Female Urinary incontinence
  • Musculoskeletal Problems
  • Orthopedic joint pain
  • Chronic Pain

*SVF although has demonstrated efficacy in a number of studies is not FDA approved and should be considered as experimental

Platelet Rich Plasma

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) plays a key role in the process of wound and soft tissue healing.

PRP raises the local concentration of platelets in the blood to above the baseline, and when activated creates an environment which promotes helaing.

PRP injections are prepared from the patient’s own blood. Once activated it is placed into the abnormal tissue.

After the PRP is placed, the growth factors (signaling molecules) may promote the healing of injured areas like the penis or vagina and help with erectile dysfunction, orgasms, female incontinence and other urological conditions and it may also help ligaments, joints and tendons.
