Hormone Replacement Therapy, Menopause Care & Women’s Life and Performance Medicine
Experience in Women’s Hormonal & Sexual Health
Rockwell Centers has been treating women and advocating for women’s sexual and hormonal health for years—long before women’s hormone optimization became a prominent part of longevity and wellness medicine. Our commitment grew from recognizing that hormones, sexual function, menopause and quality of life are often interconnected and deserve individualized care.
Our experience includes caring for women through perimenopause and menopause, as well as concerns involving sexual desire, arousal, orgasm and vaginal health. This longstanding experience provides the foundation for the broader Life & Performance approach at RWell Center.
Understanding Hormonal Changes in Women
Hormonal changes can begin years before menopause. During perimenopause and menopause, changes in estrogen, progesterone and testosterone may occur alongside hot flashes, night sweats, changes in menstrual cycles, sleep disturbances, sexual concerns and changes in overall well-being.
At RWell Center, the goal is not simply to replace hormones or treat a laboratory value. We consider symptoms, stage of life, medical history, sexual health and individual goals when determining whether hormone therapy is appropriate.
Hormone therapy remains the most effective treatment for menopausal hot flashes and night sweats and can also help prevent bone loss in appropriately selected women. Treatment should be individualized according to the woman’s health, age, symptoms, timing of menopause and potential benefits and risks.
An Individualized Approach to Hormone Therapy
RWell Center uses an individualized approach that may include bioidentical estradiol, progesterone and testosterone, depending on the woman’s needs and treatment goals.
Women’s hormone care is not new to our practice. It is an extension of our longstanding commitment to women’s health.
Estradiol
Estradiol is a bioidentical form of estrogen and may help treat symptoms such as hot flashes and night sweats, while also supporting bone health and treating genitourinary symptoms of menopause.
At RWell Center, estradiol may be delivered through transdermal patches or hormone pellets. Local vaginal estrogen may also be considered when vaginal or urinary symptoms are a primary concern.
Progesterone
For women with a uterus receiving systemic estrogen, progesterone is generally used to protect the lining of the uterus. Micronized progesterone is a bioidentical form of progesterone and can be incorporated into an individualized hormone-replacement plan.
Testosterone Therapy for Women
Women naturally produce testosterone, and androgen signaling plays a role in female physiology and sexual function.
For appropriately selected women, testosterone therapy may be considered particularly for low sexual desire after menopause, after other contributing factors have been evaluated.
At RWell Center, testosterone may be delivered through hormone pellets or transdermal formulations, with treatment and monitoring individualized to the patient.
There is currently no FDA-approved testosterone formulation specifically indicated for women in the United States, so its use in women is generally off-label.
Bioidentical Hormones
Bioidentical hormones have the same molecular structure as hormones naturally produced by the human body. Bioidentical does not necessarily mean compounded—FDA-approved estradiol patches and micronized progesterone are examples of bioidentical hormone therapies.
Our goal is not to use the same hormone or delivery method for every woman, but to determine the approach that best fits the individual.
Hormones, Sexual Health & Quality of Life
Hormonal changes can influence sexual desire, arousal, orgasm, vaginal comfort and sexual satisfaction, but female sexual function involves much more than hormones alone.
Because women’s sexual medicine has long been a focus of Rockwell Centers, hormone therapy can be considered within the broader context of a woman’s sexual health, relationships, medications, physical health and quality of life.
Hormones, Nutrition, Gut Health & Healthy Aging
Healthy aging involves more than hormones. Bone health, muscle mass, body composition, metabolic health, nutrition and physical activity all become increasingly important through menopause and beyond.
Adequate vitamins, minerals and protein help support bone and muscle health, while identifying nutritional deficiencies may allow for more individualized nutrition and supplementation.
The gut microbiome is also an emerging area of women’s health research. The gut participates in nutrient absorption, metabolism, immune and inflammatory signaling, and the metabolism of certain hormones. Research continues to explore relationships between the microbiome, estrogen metabolism, metabolic health and healthy aging.
At RWell Center, these areas can be considered together to help women maintain health, strength and function as they age.

Understanding Peptides
Peptides have become an increasingly discussed area of longevity, health and performance medicine. Some peptide-based medications have established medical uses, while others remain investigational or have different regulatory statuses.
RWell Center provides educational information about peptide science, current research and FDA regulatory considerations.
